Ceiling Mockup

A mockup of the ceiling design done for the north-west side bedroom in 1st Floor. A 6 inch down light head has been installed to show the gap between the slab soffit and the highest level of the ceiling.  The site is short of L- Angles and Ahmed is purchasing them now from Rainbow. The Ceiling specialist is currently sawing the thin strips of gypsum board.

2nd Floor Electrical Cable Laying

Second Floor Electrical Cable Laying Started on 1st November 2010. One Apartment is completed in 2 days. At this rate 4 days to complete each floor. There are 3 persons laying the cable.

Bathroom water proof testing before screed

Waterproofing of first layer of Sika Latex is being tested in all bathrooms in 1st and 2nd floor. The leak is noted in the 2 toilets facing the road side balcony in both 1st and second floor. The wall joint masonry to the slab is to be chipped and repaired with grout mixed with Sika Plastocrete Plus. And will be retested after application of Sika Latex in the repaired joint.

Ground Floor Trench and Riser Connection

Image showing the 2 options of paths, the sewer line and fresh water lines can take to join the Ground Floor Trench. The GREEN line shows the previous recommendation by the MNE engineer. The RED line shows the new proposed path that can be taken by the sewer line for the 10 bath rooms of this duct.  The engineer will mark the ceiling  line after the 1:100 level slope is taken by the sewer line on the left hand side (West side). The is to begin tomorrow morning at site as per the path shown in RED.

Appartment level electric DB locations

A mock-up is made from wood indicating the 1m level for the projection wall for fixing the Apartment Floor Level Electric DB. This is the original proposed location for the floor level DBs as viewed from the kitchen side. This option provides some privacy to the apartment, and will sort of be along the side of the sofa set creating a pocket. And people will be moving around from the opposite side which is open.

The wall projection is moved here to the kitchen side. This is viewed from the living room side. The projected wall will be adjacent to the fridge and the washing machine and will act as a cover for the fridge. The wall will now occupy the space of 6 inch earlier allocated for the general lighting switches of the apartment. The switches can now placed on this projection wall.

Here the DB fixing wall is moved to the side of the concrete wall of the lift pit. The projection will be behind the sofa and an be used to hang a decor piece.

2nd-Floor - Electric duct and AC drain

We need to workout the detail for this cross over. The drain and gas pipe comes below the window sill level to avoid the collision of the window frame that opens to the void in the adjacent room. Earlier the AC contractor suggested to embed the AC service line in the wall screed. The AC is too close to the Bedroom door frame hence the AC power socket will move towards the electric duct as much possible to make room on the right hand side.

MWSC booster pump reference

This is the booster pump for a similar building, We'll have to check with MWSC on the actual size before casting the fixing base inside the security room. The pump will be accessible from the outside of the room.

Perlin anchor strip fixing

Celing level, water marks have been established in 2nd floor all areas. Perlin anchor strip fixing around the perimeter of rooms started. The image shows ongoing work in Apartment A - Living Area.

Ground Floor Trench Works

Ground floor trench works. Excavated and lean concrete and trench base completed in trench area at the front of the plot. Pipe laying started. Duct wall foundation in progress. Well area excavated to make trench in garage area.
